Matthew's Fun in the Tub

Matthew loves to play in the tub. Each night while Daddy is washing his hair, he asks for his hair to be styled in a mohawk or spikey. Tonight was a spikey night. As you can clearly see, it has been too long since his last hair cut. His hair is so long. Enjoy,

Mom, I AM NOT tired.

Today when I picked Matthew up from school, he was not very nice in the car. I explained to him that when we got home he was going to take a nap. He insisted to me that "HE WAS NOT TIRED". I opted not to argue with him. When we arrived home, he asked me for his favorite lunch - a peanut butter and jelly roll up. While he was eating his lunch, I decided to put away some stuff upstairs. It became very quiet downstairs and at this point, I decided that I should check on him. This is what I found....

He fell asleep cuddling napkins on the kitchen table. As you can see, his roll up is half eaten and no longer on his plate. We are at that very hard, in-between stage with him these days. If he doesn't take a nap he is unbearable, and if he does take a nap he stays up too late at night and the cycle starts over again the next day. This too shall pass.

How did six years already pass? I cannot believe that we celebrated Sarah's 6th Birthday this week. She is just growing up too fast. She had a wonderful day. We went to church and she was able to celebrate with her Sunday School class. We then went and met Uncle Josh and Aunt DeAnn for a fantastic pizza lunch. Pumpkin Patch

Last Sunday we took a trip to the Pumpkin Patch. There were lots of pumpkins to choose from and the kids had fun. Why no nice pictures of Matthew you ask? Why didn't he pose with the pumpkins for this perfect photo op? Where is he? Why do we only get to see one silly picture of him? Well, he wasn't on his best behavior. Again. He refused to have his picture taken. Again. Hmmmm, kind of reminds me of school picture day. Oh yea, we don't have any of those either. We will keep our fingers crossed that someday he will allow someone to take his picture without him sticking his hands in his mouth and making a goofy face. Someday......

Blog has been Updated!!

My dad called the other day to harass me about the fact that my blog hadn't been updated since April 2008. So as to not disappoint, I have updated. I promise that I will try and maintain it from this point forward. Enjoy all of the new pictures and look forward to more to come.....

Boys in Their New Suits

My boys tried on their new suits today. Kim is getting married in November and the boys are getting ready. Aren't they cute. If only they would smile and stop acting so Goofy!!! We will work on this between now and then. Keep your fingers crossed.


PS - Matthew is excited. He told Nanny he couldn't wait to wear his white shirt and 2 black shirts.

Matthew's Fat Lip - September 2008

Ok - I learned an important lesson this week... never leave the house. My friend and I went out this week to have some fun at a Boden party. We left the house and headed to the party. About one hour later, I received a phone call from Jim stating that he is taking Matthew to the ER and our other neighbor is at our house watching our other children. What? Are you kidding? I thought he was playing a practical joke on me....

Well he wasn't. Matthew gashed his mouth open while running down the hall. We aren't actually sure what happened as John was the only witness to the event.

After 3 hours at the ER, it was determined that Matthew would need to be seen by an oral surgeon the next day. He had "gloved" himself. This means, removing the skin from the top of your teeth up to your jawline. He had exposed bone showing and therefore we had to start him on antibiotics.

After a visit to the oral surgeon the next day, it was determined that we would take a wait and see approach on his mouth. He had actually fractured his top left front tooth and the one next to it was extremely loose.

Here are some pictures of Matthew...I must mention that Jim and I have been betting all along that Matthew would be the first child of ours seen at the ER....We just thought it would be a broken limb. We asked if we could purchase some sort of Frequent Visitor Discount card.

Matthew's First Day of School - 3 Yr Old - August 2008

Matthew is beginning school this week. He is starting one week later than the other two. He is ready to go and excited for the year to come. Somehow Daddy made it into his pictures today. Don't they look handsome.

First Day of School - August 2008

We have returned from our summer trip with just days to spare before school starts. Now that we are rested, here we go. Sarah is in Kindergarten this year and John is in 2nd grade. I can't believe they are getting so big.

Summer Vacation in New Mexico 2008

This summer, the kids and I took off to New Mexico to spend some time at my parents house. This was the first time we had visited New Mexico in 3 years. We spent 14 days at my parents home. One day, we spent the day touring some of the popular attractions of the state.

We went to White Sands which is just outside Alamogordo, NM. If you are interested in learning more about White Sands, visit here. This video is of John "surfing" on the sand. It was quite hot at the time we were there. We probably only stayed about 30 minutes, but we had a lot of fun. We will have to return when it is not so HOT. Matthew can't wait to go back to the "snow". Yes it was in the 90's while we were there and he calls it "snow".



Next we visited the New Mexico Museum of Space History. This museum is located in Alamogordo, NM. For more information, look here.

Out last stop was in Ruidoso, NM at the Ruidoso Downs Horse Racing Track. We stayed at watched the 3 last races of the day.

The kids enjoyed watching the horses....

Happy 4TH of JULY

Today, Daddy took the kids to the annual 4Th of July Parade.

Go Braves!!!! June 2008

Today Daddy and Uncle Josh took John and Sarah to watch the Braves play a day game. It looks like they had a lot of fun even though the Braves lost to the Marlins 4 - 6.

Summer as Begun!! June 2008

Well it looks like summer has officially begun.....

Matthew's 3rd Birthday Party FUN!!

How times flies.....I cannot believe that my "baby" is now 3. He is getting so big. He had so much fun celebrating his big day this year. He had an awesome snake cake that he loved. As you can see, I think that it also tasted great.

Our First Trip to Six Flags - May 2008

My parents came to visit and decided that we should take the children to Six Flags for the day. We have a very fun day. They children enjoyed the trip and are constantly planning for the next one. Although, they say they won't ever ride on the "Monsters River Boat" ever again - it was TOO scary....
